In late 2004, an agreement with Diamonds North Resources Ltd. ("Diamonds North") and BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc. (BHP Billiton), Commander was granted the rights to 100% of all gold on 34 Prospecting Permits covering a land area of more than 2 million acres in Nunavut (the "Property"). These rights include gold discovered by work of the Amaruk JV.

Further details were announced in the December 9, 2004 news release.

This region has recieved only limited geological work. In a review of government geophysical surveying in completed in 2004 the Geological Survey of Canada identified the northern area as having mineral potential. Data from Government mapping in the southeast should be available in early 2005.

Pelly is underlain by Archean, Proterozoic and some Paleozoic rocks, and includes un-explored greenstone belts. Similar belts in the region subjected to detailed exploration host known gold mineralization including the Hope Bay Greenstone Belt, the Committee Bay Greenstone Belt and the Meliadine Greenstone Belt.
